Meriwest Announces Sponsorship with San Jose Earthquakes

Official Credit Union

SAN JOSE, CA – March 26, 2015  –  Meriwest Credit Union announced today that it signed a three-year agreement with the San Jose Earthquakes to become the Official Credit Union sponsor of the Major League soccer team.  The relationship kicks off this season and will run through the 2017 season.

As part of the sponsorship with the San Jose Earthquakes, Meriwest Credit Union will receive significant signage rights throughout the exterior and interior of the new Avaya stadium.  Additional benefits include events such as Meriwest CU Night, an opportunity where fans can learn about the benefits of credit union membership.  Meriwest will also promote their mission of providing young adults access to financial resources and tools to help them build brighter financial futures. In addition to the events at Avaya stadium, Meriwest and the Earthquakes will partner to support their upcoming new branch location in Santa Clara, just a few miles from the stadium.

The partnership compliments Meriwest’s ongoing commitment to being an active part of the communities in which it serves by supporting local organizations.

“The San Jose Earthquakes have a long tradition of being a part of the community, just as Meriwest has. It’s our pleasure to be associated with such a well-known and integral part of the Santa Clara community and the Bay Area. We look forward to building a strong relationship that benefits all.” said Tony Cortez, SVP and Chief Experience Officer of Meriwest Credit Union.

“We are proud to partner with Meriwest Credit Union,” said Earthquakes President Dave Kaval. “It is a perfect union of two Silicon Valley companies. They have a great reputation and we are excited to build a strong partnership.”
