Meriwest Executives meet with Winners
SAN JOSE, CA – March 4, 2015 “How do you see mobile banking changing the way America manages their money and shops? What impact will that have on financial institutions and retailers?” This was the question on the minds of many teenagers this past fall as they prepared to participate in Meriwest Credit Union’s Annual Essay Competition. Each year the essay competition proposes topics of discussion that allows young members to address issues that challenge credit unions regularly.
This year’s topic challenged our students to think about the future of mobile banking and how they and members will utilize new technologies to manage their finances. With the ever changing landscape of how individuals bank, financial institutions are in a unique position of meeting the high demand of mobile accessibility while ensuring in-person service and a wide range of financial products are available to our members; serving them well into retirement.
“Each year the students present extremely thought out and compelling essays, this year being no different.” said Tony Cortez, SVP and Chief Experience Officer of Meriwest Credit Union. “The topic of mobile banking rang true to the students and provided not only great insight from their perspective, but allowed us at Meriwest to see how mobile banking relates to them from a new perspective.”
