Meriwest Sponsors FHLB Grant for Habitat for Humanity Project

Provides $35,000 Housing Grant for Low Income First-Time Homebuyers

SAN JOSE, CA – August 31, 2016 – Meriwest Credit Union announced today that they have sponsored a successful Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco Affordable Housing Program grant application on behalf of the Habitat for Humanity East Bay/Silicon Valley. The Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco uses their profits to support affordable housing projects. Member institutions, such as Meriwest Credit Union, can sponsor Affordable Housing Program applications from community development organizations with residential projects in need of financing.

HEART Offers $117,281 Down Payment Loans for First Time Homebuyers Facebook Makes $100,000 Donation to Program

HEART of San Mateo County and Meriwest Mortgage offer loans for new homeowners in San Mateo County for homes costing up to $781,875

SAN MATEO, CA – July 18, 2016– HEART, the Housing Endowment and Regional Trust of San Mateo County is offering larger, first-time homebuyer down payment loans for new homebuyers in San Mateo County. Working with Meriwest Mortgage, a wholly owned subsidiary of Meriwest Credit Union, one of the largest credit unions serving Silicon Valley and the Greater Bay Area, new homebuyers in San Mateo County can now purchase homes costing up to $781,875. This represents a 33% increase from the previous maximum home price of $521,250. HEART and Meriwest increased their loan amounts in response to higher housing costs and limited inventory of homes or condos for sale at the lower price limit.

Meriwest Awarded WISH & IDEA Sponsorship Grants

FHLB approves $180K in Loan Program Grant Funds to CU

SAN JOSE, CA – April 20, 2016 - The Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco approved Meriwest Credit Union’s request for grant funds to be used to help local working families earning less than the median income access to home ownership. Meriwest Credit Union was approved for funds on two grant programs; $150k will be granted for the WISH (Workforce Initiative Subsidy for Homeownership) Program and $30k for the IDEA (Individual Development and Empowerment Account) Program. The granted funds are utilized as downpayment assistance for qualified working families in the communities Meriwest serves.

SAN JOSE, CA – March 17, 2016  –  Meriwest Credit Union and its newly formed subsidiary, MW  Wealth Advisors (MWWA), announced that it has recently reached an agreement to acquire a portion of Credit Union Financial Partners (CUFP) a local financial and investment services firm’s, portfolio. The acquisition of the CUFP portfolio is expected to help accelerate the growth of MWWA in providing wealth management services in the Bay Area, particularly in investments, retirement planning and estate planning, as Meriwest continues to deliver on its mission of providing a full array of financial products and services for its members.

Meriwest and Autoland, LLC Partner to Support Local Non-Profit

SAN JOSE, CA February 19, 2016 – Meriwest Credit Union was proud to recently sponsor Assistance League of San Jose with a $3,000 grant through Autoland, LLC - Auto Buying's charitable grant program. The funds will help support ALSJ's Readers are Leaders program.

Thanks to a dollar-for-dollar match from CO-OP Financial Services’ Miracle Match program, Meriwest will present a check for $11,095.50 to UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland.
